Lou Reed sent fans into a frenzy at the Gorillaz concert in his native New York on Friday night, when he stepped on stage to perform a rare live collaboration with the band.
The Clint Eastwood hitmakers were performing at Manhattan's Madison Square Garden, where Reed joined rocker Damon Albarn's band to reprise his metallic guitar solo for the Gorillaz's Plastic Beach album track Some Kind Of Nature.
The Brooklyn-born rocker was also given his own animated caricature for the night, which was projected on a giant screen behind him as he played for his hometown fans.
But Reed wasn't the only guest star to step on stage - the Gorillaz's two-hour set also featured Mos Def adding vocals to tracks Stylo and Sweepstakes, De La Soul rapping on Feel Good Inc. and soul star Bobby Womack, who added vocals to Stylo and Cloud Of Unknowing.
