Kerrang! is proud to announce that the Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour 2009 is back and is bigger than ever with 17 shows taking place across January next year, hitting cities across the UK and Ireland with the best of this yearâs â and next â rock talent!
Kicking off at the Belfast Mandela Hall on 13 January, the tour will then rock its way through Dublin and the UK, ending up at Brixton Academy on 30 January!
Kerrang! Editor Paul Brannigan says, âThe 2009 Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drinkâ Tour will be the perfect way to blow away the January blues. It's the most diverse, exciting bill we've had for the K! Tour yet and it'll kickstart what promises to be a landmark year for all four acts. Bring it on!"
Headlining the tour is Mindless Self Indulgence, coming back to the UK after a sold out tour earlier this year. One of the biggest bands in America they have topped Billboard Singles and MySpace charts alike. For a band that's fiercely independent and stunningly visceral in both their recorded material and their live shows, NYC's Mindless Self Indulgence know how to make a big commotion. Since 1997, this co-ed electronic/punk rock band has been storming the electronic and punk scenes sweeping up many hardcore fans in its wake with its music and incendiary live performances.
Bring Me the Horizon are five young British lads with a penchant for the heavy. 2006 became the year of the Horizon. First they became one of the top 100 played acts on MySpace (them and Coldplay were the only UK acts in the top 100!!!), They won BEST BRITISH NEWCOMERS at the Kerrang! Awards, toured with Lostprophets and had an amazing set at Download (biggest pit of the weekend) and released debut, âCount Your Blessingsâ.
After a summer spent storming the US on the Warped Tour, âSUICIDE SEASONâ, their second album, was released in September, receiving rave reviews across the UK rock press for its perfect soundtrack to a life spent on the edge, where normal rules donât apply.
Black Tide exploded on the scene in August with their anthem âShoutâ. The Miami quartet are the youngest band on the tour, but donât let their youthfulness fool you, Gabriel on vocals may only be fourteen and this three bandmates under 20, but this band is unquestionably the real deal and expect to hear more of them next year.
In Case of Fire are currently on tour with Funeral for a Friend and have announced a headlining tour before joining the Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour in January. They have had a great 2008 so far, and Kerrang! state that this Northern Irish Band one of the best in Britain today and their new single âThis Time We Standâ is out now.
