Bloc Party have been forced to scrap a show at a Miami musical festival after their lead singer was struck down with throat problems.
The band were set to play at the Ultra Music Festival on Saturday, but were forced to withdraw from their slot when singer Kele Okereke contracted viral pharyngitis - an inflammation of the throat.
The group had apologised over the cancellation, and assured fans they will return to Miami to play in the near future. A statement on their website reads, "Kele has contracted viral pharyngitis and is unable to perform today at the Ultra Music Festival in beautiful Miami, FL.
"We send our heartfelt apologies to all our fans and the Ultra Music Festival organisers. We hope to return to Miami, FL, at our earliest opportunity."
