Adam Ficek

Adam Ficek

After the huge success of Adam Ficek's solo debut, Roses Kings Castles, Adam finally takes his one man band on the road to help spread the "quixotic pop" word.

January will see Adam traveling the length and breadth of the UK to perform a string of intimate, one-man-and a guitar solo gigs, Adam commented "It's important for me to get my music out I kept putting it off, I'm nervous. But if you dont try you'll never know."

Fans can also expect a host of impromptu gigs, similar to that of Adam's recent Babyshambles gig, whereby him and the band performed in a fan's flat, Its important for us to play these ramshackle outings. It keeps us humble.

Thats always been the strength of the band within the blink of an eye you can catch us at Wembley Arena followed by a taxi rank in Whitechapel. Its this ethos that I want to keep strong in my Roses [Kings Castles] project. If you lose that sense of community with your fans then its too easy to become sucked into the world of fickle celebsville", Adam said.

When not devoting his time to Roses Kings Castles and preliminary work on Babyshambles forthcoming third album, Adam has been in the studio making multi-instrumental contributions to bandmate Pete Dohertys long-awaited solo LP, Adam commented, I think Peters solo efforts are going to surprise lots of people, there are places on the album that Babyshambles and Peter have never been".

"Ive been in to play all sorts of instruments. I think I surprised Stephen [Street the albums producer] when I played him my album. He didnt realise I played all the different parts, so he drafted me in to play accordion, vibes, and obviously drums. Im hoping to get at least some xylophone and recorder in there too. All in all the album has the warmth of a French film soundtrack crossed with the juvenile zest of Down in Albion.

Horses, the third single to be lifted from RKCs eponymous debut album, will be available as a download, CD, and snow-white seven-inch vinyl from 8th December. A January 2009 Roses Kings Castles tour is shortly to be announced, and Apples and Engines a new RKC EP comprised of non-album material is being readied for a spring release.
