December 7th sees the release of ‘Future’, Inner City’s first entirely original material for a decade.
Anyone with even a passing interest in dance music and pop will be aware of their legacy. They dominated the charts in the early 90s and have sold over 6 million records to date. With seminal tracks such as ‘Good Life’, ‘Big Fun’ and ‘Pennies from Heaven’ remaining as some of the most euphoric moments in dance music history.
Comprising of techno legend Kevin Saunderson, singer/songwriters Paris Grey and Ann Saunderson, Inner City’s ‘Future’, has been written and produced in collaboration with another Detroit legend, namely Kenny Larkin.
Devastatingly catchy and highly emotional, it exhibits all the soulful flavours and qualities you would expect from these celebrated producers and singers.
Kevin Saunderson has directly influenced a whole new generation of new younger dance music producers and electronic artists, with Simian Mobile Disco, Agoria and Kenny Hawks all covering Big Fun, and Urban Pop sensation Katy B performing her own cover of ‘Good Life’ on tour.
After 10 years away from the studio and live arena, Inner City are set to return to the forefront of dance music with new material and a new live schedule.
With 2012 being the 20th Anniversary of Techno, Kevin Saunderson is rightfully back to where he belongs.
