LCD Soundsystem have slammed ticket scalpers for trying to cash in on the band's last ever concert, branding them "parasites" for ripping off true fans.
The electronic band recently announced it had decided to "retire from the game" and would bow out of the music industry with one final show at New York's Madison Square Garden on 2 April.
Tickets went on sale on Wednesday, but devotees struggled to get through to websites to make their purchases and prime seats were soon being sold on at extortionate prices online.
The group, fronted by James Murphy, was alerted to the practice hours later and one of the stars took to LCD Soundsystem's Twitter.com blog to hit out at ticket touts after learning prices on the second-hand marketplace had soared to $1,500 (£1,000) per stub.
The bandmember wrote, "1500 (dollars) for a single ticket? F**k you, scalpers. You are parasites. I HATE you." And the unidentified star has urged fans not to buy from scalpers, insisting it's "not worth" the money they're demanding to attend the highly anticipated gig.
The bandmember added, "NO MATTER WHAT WE DO, IT IS NOT WORTH THAT KIND OF MONEY TO SEE US!"
