It’s fair to say that Hadouken! smashed last summer’s festival season. Coming off the back of a self-released Top 20 album and a sold-out UK headline tour, the band emerged as a major highlight of Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Carling Reading and Leeds, Underage, Relentless NASS, and beyond.
Currently on a solo UK tour (dates below), Hadouken! are putting the finishing touches to their third studio album, due for release in spring 2011. In preparation for this, and to coincide with a UK arena tour with Pendulum, they release the Oxygen EP in February.
The Oxygen EP contains two new songs, ‘Oxygen’ and ‘Mecha Love’ (the latter has had 11 million views on YouTube), plus remixes. Both tracks wear Hadouken!’s dance/rock sound on their sleeves and further highlight the band’s position at the cross-section of dance and guitar music.
Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw had the world exclusive for ‘Mecha Love’, with further support from Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens. The EP, and the forthcoming album, have been produced with fast-rising drum and bass duo Xample and Lomax, the latest leading lights from the Ram Records stable.
