Mexican opera star Rolando Villazon is making a brave live comeback at a concert in Vienna, Austria in March 2010. The gig comes almost a year after doctors discovered a cyst on his vocal cords.
The tenor, 37, announced in April that he was scrapping all concerts for 2009 so he could undergo throat surgery.
The operation was a success and Villazon revealed last month that he was slowly regaining his voice. He will mark his full recovery on 22 March when he steps on stage at the Vienna State Opera for a one-off appearance in Donizetti's L'eliser d'amore.
He will then follow the performance with three other shows at the Berlin State Opera in Germany from 26 March to 2 April in a rendition of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.
