Taylor Swift - Fearless
Already a massive star in America, it looks like Taylor Swift’s success is set to be mirrored here in Britain with her debut album Fearless. Sounding like a country version of Avril Lavigne, the mixture of the 19 year old’s soothing vocals and upbeat guitar sounds make Swift a class act.
From the increasingly popular and catchy Love Song to the gentle and melodic White Horse, the album oozes all the ingredients that a pop triumph should possess. Every girl who’s ever been in love or had her heart broken will instantly relate to songs such as Fifteen “I’ve found time will heal most anything and you just might find who you’re supposed to be” - a classic account of confused teenage thoughts that would provoke a knowing smile in even the most cynical of people. There’s also Breathe featuring the equally as soothing Colbie Caillat, “I can’t breathe without you...but I have to” – the two voices complimenting each other brilliantly.
Still only a teenager, it’s amazing how mature Swift’s outlook on life is and refreshing that she wrote every single song the album has to offer. Whether you feel like chilling out after a hard day or having a good (boy-related) sob, this album is a perfect accompaniment. Beautiful, sassy and amazingly talented – Taylor Swift has every right to be Fearless with this latest collection.
