Steve Vai is calling on budding virtuosos to help him score a new world record for the largest online music lesson ever.
The rocker is teaming up with his old music college, Berklee in Massachusetts, to attempt the global guitar lesson on 3 March. The Grammy Award-winning star hopes the stunt will encourage guitar players to cultivate their own unique style.
He says, "This online event, and the larger efforts Berkleemusic is making to teach students around the world, is a great example of the collaboration that happens at Berklee. Whether you're in Boston, Bombay, or Brussels, we'll all be together on March 3."
Vai's free online lesson will last 30 minutes, and will provide a unique look into Steve's technique.
