In today's run down on what’s happening in the Hip-Hop world, Dame Dash is heading to the divorce courts, C Murder is heading home..well for a while anyway, Rihanna is out and about with a new man on her arm and Jim Jones is back to court again.
Divorce Courts for Dash
The wife of once super mogul Dame Dash, one of the brains behind Roc-a-fella Records who birthed the global superstar Jay Z filed for divorce from the financially challenged Harlemite. Rachel Roy, a fashion designer who met Dash while working at Rocawear clothing filed for divorce in a Manhattan court last week. The couple have two daughters together.
Dash has been in the media recently as tales of his financial issues have made the headlines. With foreclosure and repossession hanging over his head Dash has also been battling with his estranged girlfriend of his 17 year old son.
C Murder Released
Bail was set at $1 million for Corey Miller more commonly known as C Murder and yesterday the rapper and brother of Percy Miller AKA Master P walked free. The rapper who was jailed last month for breaking the conditions of his house arrest is charged with the murder of a 16 year old outside a club back in 2002. C Murder has already stood trial for the offense but it was deemed a mistrial due to evidence being withheld by the prosecution.
Jim Jones in Court
Stemming from an incident on Christmas Eve last year, Jim Jones was in court yesterday to reject a plea deal. The Diplomat rapper got into a scuffle in the Fifth Avenue Louis Vuitton Flagship store in Manhattan in December with Javon Smith who was accompanying R&B singer Ne-Yo. Lawyer for the rapper, Scott Leemon said the case was ‘a set up for a civil lawsuit,’ as his client refused to take the ten day community service deal offered by the courts.
Jim Jones returned to the stage last night for a limited time to perform his Hip-Hop Monologues: Inside the Mind and Life of Jim Jones.
Chris Brown Replaced?
Rumors are circulating that Rihanna is once again dating after her public break up with Chris Brown has been the main topic of conversation for almost two months now. The Disturbia songstress has allegedly been seen on the scene a couple of times with Wilder Valderrama, famed for his role in That Seventies Show and who has been linked to many A List females including Lindsay Lohan and Christina Milian.
The couple were spotted clubbing in Hollywood last weekend.
