America has long been the country to crack for British music artists - but now it's not so much a dream, as a reality, as more and more Brits are making it Stateside.
Boyband The Wanted are currently in the US, after being invited to perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ellen personally requested that the boys make their debut on the show, which was pre-recorded yesterday, and airs in America tonight. Their appearance is ahead of their very first US tour, which will begin in Florida on January 17, and hopefully launch their success in the States.
It certainly doesn't seem five minutes since girls (and women!) everywhere found themselves falling in love with the cheeky chaps of One Direction, when they were runners up in the X Factor in 2010, and now they are set to support huge US boyband Big Time Rush on their upcoming tour, which starts this February.
Starry Eyed singer, Ellie Goulding, saw her fame rise meteorically as she toured America during summer 2011, playing to packed out shows and appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the hit late-night talk show.
2011 was also a phenomenal year for Adele, and despite cancelling a string of US tour dates due to illness, she has so far managed 14 weeks at number one in the US billboard top 200.
Other stars who will continue to take the States by storm this year include Florence and the Machine, and Tinie Tempah - who performed his hit track 'Wonderman' with Ellie Goulding at the annual Coachella music festival in California over the summer.
Watch out America - the Brits are coming!
