X-Men are a bunch of heroes and villains that I have always loved, since I watched the cartoons when I was a kid... and it has been a comic book that has transitioned incredibly well on to the big screen.
We were introduced to the X-Men film franchise back in 2000, and fourteen years on, it is still going strong - it looks like X-Men: Days of Future Past will be the biggest movie yet.
Days of Future Past is one of the most anticipated films of summer 2014, as Bryan Singer returns to the franchise for the first time since the fantastic X2.
Simon Kinberg has penned the screenplay and has brought together the original X-Men franchise with the First Class cast list. Seriously, this is one of the most impressive cast lists of the year.
Michael Fassbender & Ian McKellen are both back as Magneto, while James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart will reprise the role of Charles Xavier.
Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore are also on board.
However, it is not just about old faces, there are a couple of new big cast members to look out for: Peter Dinklage is an exciting addition as Bolivar Trask, while Evan Peters is on board as Quicksilver.
Singer has always had a knack of balancing different characters and storylines when it comes to this franchise, and I cannot wait to see what he does this time around.
There is an incredibly epic feel to just about every trailer I have seen so far, and it looks like we really are in for a treat of a movie.
The movie will follow Wolverine, as he is sent into the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.
Singer has revealed that he has already started working on the script for the next X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse - this is set for a 2016 release.
Of all the summer movies that we will be treated to over the coming months, X-Men: Days of Future Past is the one that I am looking forward to the most.
Fingers crossed it lives up to all of the expectation... I have a sneaky feeling that it will.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is released 22nd May
