Forrest Gump was one of the biggest movies of 1994 and it is still a much loved film nearly twenty years on - yes the movie is celebrating it's twentieth anniversary last year.
Michael Conner Humphreys took on the role of young Forrest Gump in the movie and was one of the most recognised child stars the year it was released... but what happened to him?
The role of young Forrest Gump marked his big screen debut as he teamed up with Sally Field and Tom Hanks.
The movie was a box office and critical smash and went on to win the Best Picture Oscar.
Humphreys had the movie world at his feet and could have gone on to be one of the biggest child stars of the nineties.
But he turned his back on Hollywood has he finished his education and went into the military.
Humphreys joined the army back in 2005 and fought for his country in Iraq.
But after three years in service Humphreys' enlistment came to an end in June 2008 and he began to look at a return to acting.
In 2011 he returned to the big screen when he landed a role in Pathfinders: In The Company of Strangers.
Humphreys took on the role of a soldier in the Curt A. Sindelar film that was based on a true story.
Pathfinders told the take of the American paratroopers who landed just before the Normandy invasion to mark the drop zones.
The movie was not a huge hit on release and that was the last time that we saw Humphreys on the big screen.
