We are counting down the days until The BFG is released here at FemaleFirst as it is promising to be one of the biggest family films of the summer.
Not only is it exciting to see Roald Dahl's classic tale back on the big screen - it will be the first time that a live-action adaptation has been made - but Steven Spielberg is back in the director's chair.
We are going to see Oscar-winner Mark Rylance take on the title role and this is his first feature film since the success of Bridge of Spies last year.
In this great new clip, we see The BFG speak for the first time as he explains to Sophie why he kidnapped her. Take a look:
Rylance has seen his star rocket in the last year and I really am looking forward to seeing him take on this role as he reunites with Spielberg.
Sophie is the film's other iconic character and she will be played by Ruby Barnhill; who will be making her big screen debut with this role. She really is a young acting talent to watch out for going forward.
Penelope Wilton, Rebecca Hall, Jemaine Clement, Bill Hader, Rafe Spall, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson are all also on board.
THE BFG tells the extraordinary tale of a young girl named Sophie (Barnhill) and the Big Friendly Giant (Rylance) who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant County. Together they embark on a marvellous and buckswashling adventure filled with snozzcumbers, dream jars, frobscottle and even the Queen!
The mismatched pair form an unlikely friendship that will inspire enormous bravery in the BFG and give Sophie a taste of the family she dreams of.
The BFG has already opened at the U.S. box office and is set to be must-see film this July.
The BFG is released 22nd July.
