Dan Stevens is an actor to well and truly watch out for over the next few years as he looks to make the successful transition from TV to film and take Hollywood by storm.
The actor is best known for his role as Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey, but he has now left that behind and is embarking on an exciting film career.
And he will be on the big screen this week as he teams up with Dominic Cooper and Emily Browning for romance/drama Summer In February.
Stevens kicked off his acting career back in the theatre - working on the stage on both sides of the Atlantic.
He made his TV debut back in 2004 when he took on the role of Henry in Frankenstein and over the next few years he balanced TV and theatre work.
He began to make a name for himself on the small screen with roles in the likes of The Line of Beauty, Dracula and Sense and Sensibility, while he also found success with show Hay Fever.
But his big break came when he took on the role of Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey; a show which has gone on to be the most successful and popular of the last few years.
The period drama was written by Julian Fellows and follows the Crawley family and their servants in the post-Edwardian era.
Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Brown-Findlay, Laura Carmichael, Brendan Coyle and Maggie Smith all also star.
The series has been a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic as it won rave reviews as well as a whole host of awards.
Stevens saw his star rocket with the role of Matthew and it has allowed him to make the leap into feature film.
Summer In February is one of the British films to watch out for this summer as Christopher Menaul returns to the director's chair.
Summer In February focuses on the wild and bohemian Lamorna Group, dominated by the charismatic AJ Munnings (Cooper).
The incendiary anti-Modernist Munnings, now regarded as one of Britain’s most sought-after artists, is at the heart of the complex love triangle, involving the young aspiring painter Florence Carter-Wood (Browning) and Gilbert Evans (Stevens), the land agent in charge of the Lamorna estate.
True - and deeply moving - the story is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the far West of England, beyond the reach of London and its stifling conventions.
And we are going to be seeing more and more of Stevens on the big screen over the next twelve months as he has a host of projects in the pipeline.
He has already completed work on The Fifth Estate; a movie which looks at the relationship between WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and his early supporter Daniel Domscheit-Berg.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Daniel Bruhl, Stanley Tucci, Laura Linney and Anthony Mackie are also on board, while Bill Condon is in the director's chair.
However we are going to have to wait to be able to see that film as it won't be released until January of next year... but could it be an awards contender?
Stevens is also filming A Walk Among the Tombstones, which is a big screen adaptation of the novel by Lawrence Block.
Scott Frank is in the director's chair for the film while Liam Neeson and Ruth Wilson join Stevens on the cast list.
Dan Stevens is one of the brightest British acting stars and he looks set to make the very successful step into feature film - watch this space!!
Summer In February is released 14th June.
