Love & Friendship is set to hit the big screen next week and it sees Kate Beckinsale return to a Jane Austen project and to a period drama.
It is always great to see Beckinsale on the big screen and she is set to lead an all-star cast in Love & Friendship, which is based on the novel Lady Susan by Austen.
Beckinsale is no stranger to Austen having starred in an adaptation of Emma and this new film will see her take on the central role of Lady Susan Vernon. The movie will also see the actress team up with filmmaker Whit Stillman, as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since Damsels in Distress back in 2011.
There's less than a week to go until the film hits the big screen and we have a trio of fantastic new clips to whet your appetite. Take a look:
It is not all about Beckinsale as Chloë Sevigny, Xavier Samuel, Stephen Fry, Emma Greenwell, James Fleet, and Jemma Redgrave completed the talented cast list.
Beautiful young widow Lady Susan Vernon (Beckinsale) visits the estate of her in-laws to wait out the colourful rumours about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst ensconced there, she decides to secure a husband for herself and a future for her eligible but reluctant daughter, Frederica (Clark).
In doing so, she attracts the simultaneous attentions of the young, handsome Reginald DeCourcy (Samuel), the rich and silly Sir James Martin (Bennett) and the divinely handsome, but married, Lord Manwaring (Lochlann O'Mearain), complicating matters severely.
Love & Friendship premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and is set to be a period drama not to miss this summer.
Love & Friendship is released 27th May.
