For me, Brad Pitt is an actor who has got better with age and he looks set to deliver another riveting performance in Allied.
Allied is the first big screen outing for Pitt since The Big Short at the beginning of 2016 and sees him team up with filmmaker Robert Zemeckis for the first time.
Zemeckis is one of the most exciting and versatile filmmakers around and has brought us films such as Flight, The Polar Express and Cast Away in recent years. Allied is his first feature since The Walk last year.
The first teaser trailer for the film has been released and we have it for you to take a look at:
Allied also sees Marion Cotillard on the cast list as Oscar-winning actress teams up with Pitt for the first time. I am excited to see these two actors share the screen.
Lizzy Caplan, Matthew Goode, Raffey Cassidy, Jared Harris, and Charlotte Hope complete this talented cast list.
Allied follows intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt) who meets French resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour during a mission in North Africa in 1942.
The pair falls in love and marry. But when Max is informed that Marianne may be a Nazi spy, he begins to investigate his own wife.
It may still be a tad early to talk about possible Oscar contenders, but Allied could well be a film to watch out for as awards season starts to roll around.
Allied is released later this year.
