The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most recognisable and in demand actresses working in Hollywood at the moment.

Lawrence has seen her star rocket over the last twelve months thanks to landing the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise and picking up a Best Actress Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook.

The actress is back on the big screen this week with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - the second of Suzanne Collins' novels to be adapted for the big screen.

Catching Fire kicks off a very busy year for Lawrence, and we take a look at some of the movie projects that she has on the horizon.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has been one of the most talked about movies of 2013 and is set to be one of the biggest when it his screens later this week.

The movie sees Lawrence reunite with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson, while Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sam Claflin are some of the big new names to watch out for.

One of the Lawrence movies that I am most looking forward to is American Hustle, as she reunites with director David O'Russell.

O'Russell was behind Silver Linings Playbook and it is exciting to see her back with a director who really did get a fantastic performance out of her in their previous collaboration.

Lawrence is joined by an all star cast as Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Renner are all also set to star - many of them have also worked with the director before.

American Hustle is already being tipped as a possible Oscar contender, and will be released on 3rd January.

2014 will also see Lawrence return to the character of Mystique in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Days of Future Past is the sequel to X-Men: First Class, but will see actors from the original X-Men franchise join the cast list.

Lawrence has already revealed that Mystique is 'her own agent' in this new movie and I am looking forward to seeing in which director we see this character go.

Lawrence is currently filming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 - they will be hitting the big screen in 2014 and 2015.

It was also revealed earlier this autumn that the actress would be making a cameo appearance in Dumb and Dumber.

2014 will also see Lawrence turn her hand to producing for the first time as The Glass Castle will be adapted for the big screen - she has been linked to the central role in the film.

As you can see Lawrence is set to have a very busy 2014 ahead of her promoting, filming and producing and plenty of box office success is set to come her way.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is released 21st November.
