We haven't seen Dwayne Johnson on the big screen since Pain & Gain last summer, and now the actor is back in Hercules.
If any actor was destined to play Hercules on the big screen it was Johnson, and it is great to see him back on the big screen this week.
Johnson teams up with director Brett Ratner for the first time, in what is the second Hercules movie to hit the big screen in 2014.
Ratner is no stranger to the blockbuster, with the likes of X-Men: The Last Stand under his belt, but this is his first big screen outing since Tower Heist in 2011.
Over the last few years, Johnson has really cemented his position as a Hollywood action hero, and he has some exciting projects on the horizon over the next year or so.
Johnson has just completed work on Fast & Furious 7, which will see him reprise the role of Luke Hobbs.
We were introduced to the character of Hobbs back in Fast 5, and he has now become a bit of a franchise favourite.
Filming was delayed due to the sudden death of Paul Walker at the end of last year, but the film is in the can and will be released in 2015.
Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and Tyrese Gibson are some of the other familiar names on board. Some of the new faces to watch out for include Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, and Djimon Hounsou.
Walker will reprise the role of Brian O'Conner, but director James Wan has used a mix of special effects and Walker's brothers to complete the film.
This is the first Fast & Furious film from Wan, who takes over the director's chair from Justin Lin.
Fast 5 & Fast and Furious 6 enjoyed huge box office success in the last couple of years: the sixth instalment is the most successful to date.
No sooner has Johnson finished work on one project and he throws himself into another, as filming on San Andreas is underway.
Johnson will lead the cast in the action/drama, while Brad Peyton is in the director's chair. The movie sees Johnson reunite with Peyton having worked together on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
The movie will follow a rescue chopper pilot who sets out to save his estranged daughter after an earthquake in California.
Alexandra Daddario, Colton Haynes, Carla Gugino, Kylie Minogue, and Ioan Gruffudd all join Johnson on the cast list. San Andreas is set to hit the big screen next summer.
As if all that is not enough, Johnson has been linked to Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon, where he may possibly reprise the role of Hank.
Peyton is believed to be returning to the big screen, but no cast members have been officially announced.
We are big fans of Johnson here are FemaleFirst, and we are excited to check out the movies he has on the horizon over the next year.
Hercules is released 25th July.
