2015 has already been a great year for British films with the likes of Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Falling, and The Theory of Everything having all hit the big screen in recent months.
And that looks set to continue as we look ahead to what will be a very exciting autumn season of movies - I know that the summer has only just got underway, but there are so many great autumn films that I am already excited about.
Starring some of cinema's biggest names, we take a look at some of the autumn movies that you cannot afford to miss.
- Legend - 11th September
If there is one autumn movie that I just cannot wait to see is Legend, as it marks the return of Tom Hardy to the big screen.
Hardy has already enjoyed critical and commercial success this year with Mad Max: Fury Road but Legend will see him return to British drama for one of his most challenging roles to date.
Legend follows twin gangster Ronnie and Reggie Kray who terrorised London during the 1950s and 1960s - Hardy is set to play both of the brothers in the crime thriller. I really cannot wait to see him tackle this complex double role.
Brian Helgeland is on directing and writing duties as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since sporting documentary 42 in 2013. Helgeland has brought us movies such as The Sin Eater and A Knight's Tale during his directing career and penned the screenplay for L.A. Confidential.
Legend will mark the first time that Helgeland has teamed up with Hardy as he has brought together a great cast. Hardy will take on the double role of the Krays, while Emily Browning, Taron Egerton, Christopher Eccleston, Paul Anderson, and David Thewlis are all also on board.
Legend is a movie that I have been looking forward to ever since this project was announced and I always look forward to an upcoming Hardy movie.
- Kill Your Friends - September
Nicholas Hoult is one of the most exciting and in demand young actors around and he will be returning to the big screen this autumn in Kill Your Friends.
Kill Your Friends is a big screen adaptation of the novel by John Nivel and sees Owen Harris back in the director's chair. Harris has worked in TV and shorts and this will make his leap into feature film for the first time.
Niven himself has penned the screenplay for the film, which follows an A&R man working at the height of the Britpop music craze who goes to extremes to find his next hit.
Hoult takes on the central role of A&R man Stelfox, who is fuelled by greed and ambition as bands like Blur and Oasis dominate the airwaves in the late nineties.
Hoult is joined on the cast list by Craig Roberts, James Corden, Tom Riley, Georgia King, Jim Piddock, and Ed Skrein - it really is a very talented British cast.
- Macbeth - 2nd October
Macbeth is set to be brought back to the big screen this October with Michael Fassbender in the title role - this is the second film outing for the popular actor this year.
Macbeth premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, a movie that was met with great acclaim - it is a film that is already being tipped as a possible Oscar contender for 2016.
This movie marks the return of Justin Kurzel to the director's chair for what is only the second feature film of his directing career so far - he made his debut back in 2011 with Snowtown.
A great cast has been assembled for Macbeth as Marion Cotillard is also on board as Lady Macbeth. David Thewlis, Jack Reynor, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Harris, and Paddy Considine complete the line-up.
Macbeth is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a re-imagining of what wartime must have been like for one of literature's most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn Scotland.
We have seen some great Shakespeare adaptations over the year and Macbeth really does seem to have captured the attention of audiences when it played at Cannes. We are huge fans of Fassbender here are FemaleFirst and this seems to be the perfect role for such a terrific actor.
- Suffragette - 30th October
Another movie that is being tipped as a possible Oscar contender comes in the form of British drama Suffragette.
Suffragette is the new movie from Sarah Gavron and is her first live action feature since she made her debut with Brick Lane back in 2007 - she has since worked on documentary project Village at the End of the World in 2012.
Carey Mulligan has already enjoyed critical acclaim this year with the adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd and she is back in the central role of Maud.
A terrific cast has been assembled around the Oscar nominated actress as Helena Bonham Carter, Ben Whishaw, Brandan Gleeson, Romola Garai are all on board. Double Oscar winner Meryl Streep is also on board as Emmeline Pankhurst.
Suffragette is a thrilling drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State. These women were not primarily from the genteel educated classes, they were working women who had seen peaceful protest achieve nothing.
Radicalized and turning to violence as the only route to change, they were willing to lose everything in their fight for equality - their jobs, their homes, their children, and their lives. Maud was one such foot soldier. The story of her fight for dignity is as gripping and visceral as any thriller; it is also heart-breaking and inspirational.
Suffragette really does have Oscar contender written all on it and promises to be an interesting delve into British history.
- Brooklyn - 6th November
Brooklyn is an Irish drama that is not to be missed this autumn and sees Saoirse Ronan back in a central dramatic role.
Brooklyn is a big screen adaptation of the Colm Toibin novel of the same name and Nick Hornby has adapted the book into a screenplay - this is the first time that he has penned a feature film screenplay since An Education back in 2009.
John Crowley is back in the director's chair for the film in what is the fifth feature film of his career - we have seen him behind films such as Is Anybody There? and Boy A.
Brooklyn premiered at the Sundance Film Festival at the beginning of the year, where it was met well by the critics.
Set in 1950s Ireland and New York, the movie follows young Ellis Lacey who has to choose between two men and two countries.
Ronan takes on the role of Ellis in the film, and is joined on the cast list by Domhnall Gleeson, Michael Zegen, Emory Cohen, and the fantastic Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent - it really is a mix of up and coming talent and established stars.
- Spectre - 6th November
This year there has been only one British movie that we have all been talking about... of course, I am talking about Spectre as Daniel Craig reprises the role of 007.
Spectre will be the fourth Bond movie for Craig and the first since Skyfall back in 2012 - the movie went on to gross in excess of $1 billion at the global box office.
Spectre sees Craig reunite with director Sam Mendes for what will be his second consecutive Bond film at the helm - I really cannot wait to see what he delivers this time around.
However, it is not all about Craig as he is once again joined by a terrific cast. There are more familiar faces as Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris are back as M. Q, and Eve Money penny - this will be the second Bond movie for all three after we were introduced to them in Skyfall.
There are also new faces to watch out for as Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, and Andrew Scott are all on board. It really is a terrific line-up and I cannot wait to see them all in action.
A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind Spectre.
Spectre is one of the most anticipated films of the year with many looking forward to seeing Mendes and the writers take the franchise after the huge success of the final instalment.
Will Spectre be as big as Skyfall at the box office? I guess we are going to have to wait and see.
