Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World is one of the movies that I am most looking forward to this year - downside is we will have to wait until October to finally see it.

This is the second standalone film for Thor and will see the very lovely Chris Hemsworth return to the role that made his a star.

And while we may have to wait to see the movie we have some terrific new images for you to check out - including a first look at Malekith and his army.

The movie will introduce us to the character of Malekith for the first time and he is someone who is out for revenge.

Christopher Eccleston is the big addition to the cast list this time around and - as you can see from the image - he looks terrific as Malekith.

Hemsworth is not the only familiar face who is returning as Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings and Anthony Hopkins are all back.

However it is all change in the director's chair as Alan Taylor takes over the helm for the first time.

Taylor has made his name n TV with the likes of Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire and I an very excited to see him bring his touch to this franchise.

Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.

In the aftermath of Avengers Assemble, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.

Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor: The Dark World is set to be one of the biggest and most exciting movies of the autumn and is absolutely one not to miss.
