Today (February 13) saw the release of the very first teaser trailer for Disney's upcoming Frozen sequel, the aptly-titled Frozen 2. You can check out the two-minute taster above.
So, what did we learn from the scenes we've been given a glimpse of? Not too much, to be frank! There are some aspects of the trailer we can delve a little deeper into however, so join us as we pick apart the nine things we discovered!
9. Elsa is battling the ocean
We're not entirely sure of her reasoning, but Elsa is testing herself like never before in trying to utilise her powers and battle against the ocean. She seems to want to get across the expanse, but her destination is still at this point unknown. There is of course also the chance that she's simply pushing herself to the limits because of personal turmoil. One thing's for sure; there's going to be no let up on the chaos surrounding this icy queen!
8. There's a nod to The Little Mermaid
It's subtle, but many Disney fans have noticed that when Elsa jumps upon a rock in the ocean it looks very similar to the scene in The Little Mermaid when Ariel climbs onto a rock to see the world beyond the sea. With that scene being such an iconic one, we can't imagine filmmakers didn't know what they were doing and the comparisons that would be drawn up here!
7. Anna's confused by some glistening shards
Though we don't know what they represent, a whole bunch of floating, glistening shards have got Anna bewildered. They're gorgeous and look to be within Arendelle Castle, though that's not confirmed. Their presence is clearly something that Anna isn't expecting, so we would think they'll be an integral part of the film's plot.
6. Kristoff and Sven have an army of reindeer behind them
With determination in their eyes, Kristoff and Sven lead an army of reindeers towards... well, we're not entirely sure. They could in fact be running away from something, but the steely glisten in Kristoff's pupil leads us to believe they're on a rescue mission...
5. Anna's either stuck in, or exploring a cave
Perhaps Kristoff and Sven are on the way to the cave that Anna seems to have got herself caught up in! Turning from a princess into Lara Croft, she leaps across a huge gap from one rock to another. What we do know about Frozen 2 is that it looks as though it'll be packed full of dangerous action sequences!
4. Elsa and Olaf are in danger
We don't get to see much of their location, but what we do learn from getting a look at Elsa and Olaf is that they're being surrounded by a purple/pin fire. Thank goodness for Elsa's powers, eh?
3. There are at least two new characters
A young girl and boy are both shown in the Frozen 2 trailer, and whilst we only get the slightest glimpse of them, it's clear they're going to be important additions to the franchise. We can't wait to learn more about what they'll be offering to the narrative this time round!
2. It takes place in Autumn
Look at those gorgeous leaves both on the trees and the ground! Obviously in this movie, we'll be joining the gang in the midst of Autumn. With such an emphasis on the season, it'd be a shame if that doesn't play a part in the overarching plot.
1. The group's being hunted
Before the trailer completely fades to black, we're given a look at one final moment. It shows somebody or something creeping up on the group, but after Anna spots them she unsheaths Kristoff's sword and takes them down. This could be a moment made exclusively for the trailer, with Anna batting away audiences before the movie's official release date, however.
