Hugh Jackman has already had a very successful 2013 and that looks set to continue into the summer with the release of The Wolverine.
It was back in 2000 when Jackman shot to fame with the role of Logan and The Wolverine will be the second stand alone movie for this very popular character.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the last time that we saw this character on the big screen - apart from that great cameo in X-Men: First Class - and this took us back to the beginning of this character's story.
This time around we see the popular Japanese comic story arc make it to the big screen and we will get to see Logan like we have never seen him before.
Hugh Jackman himself has already hinted that this will be unlike any other X-Men movie that has gone before in terms of the movie's tone - and this is super exciting news.
Director James Mangold has also dropped some hints as to what we can expect from the film and he has mentioned that we will see a slightly more vulnerable side to the central character.
The Wolverine sees Jackman and Mangold reunite for the first time since Kate and Leopold back in 2001.
The Wolverine also marks the return of Mangold to the director's chair as he has not helmed a movie since Knight and Day.
While he has done blockbusterish projects before this is the first time that he has ever been involved with a big comic book movie.
Hiroyuki Sanada will take on the role of Shingen Yashida in the movie while Hal Yamanouchi and Tao Okamoto are also on the cast list.
Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed.
Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
Hugh Jackman has always brought a little bit of extra something to this role and it is great to see him rewarded with a second solo movie.
While the first film didn't quite live up to expectation it looks like The Wolverine is going to really raise the bar.
The Wolverine is released 26th July.
