Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the most exciting actors around and he is set to return to the big screen next year with The Walk, a movie that sees him team up with filmmaker Robert Zemeckis.
The Walk
The Walk is based on the true story of the illegal tightrope walk between the twin towers of the World Trade Centre in 1974 by high-wire walker Philippe Petit. Gordon-Levitt is set to take on the central role of Petit in the film.
Sadly, the movie won't be released in the UK until October of next year, but the first trailer for the film has been released to whet your appetite - check it out:
Granted, the new trailer doesn't give away too much about the film, but The Walk is a movie that I have been looking forward to for some time, as I am a fan of both Gordon-Levitt and Zemeckis. The tightrope walk is a truly iconic moment and I can't wait to see this story told and explored on the big screen.
Zemeckis been behind movies such as A Christmas Carol, Beowulf and A Polar Express in recent years, but he is no stranger to the live-action genre with the likes of Forrest Gump and Cast Away under his belt. However, The Walk is the first film from Zemeckis since the success of Flight back in 2013. He has also had a hand in penning the screenplay.
The director has brought together a terrific cast as Gordon-Levitt is joined by Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, James Badge Dale, and Ben Schwartz.

Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan.
The Walk is released October 2015.
