The Two Faces of January is set to hit the big screen next week, as Hossein Amini makes his debut.
Amini already has short film Catch under his belt, but now he is making the leap into feature film.
The Two Faces of January is an adaptation of the novel by Patricia Highsmith, and Amini has turned it into a screenplay.
This is one of the May films that FemaleFirst has been looking forward to, and here are two new clips to check out:
Amini has brought together a terrific cast as Oscar Isaac, Kirsten Dunst, and Viggo Mortensen are all set to star.
This is the first big screen outing for Mortensen since Everybody Has a Plan last year, while this is Dunst's first movie since Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Isaac has already had a busy 2014 with the success of Inside Llewyn Davis under his belt. The Two Faces of January is set to see that success continue: he really is an actor on the rise.
1962. A glamorous American couple, the charismatic Chester Macfarland (Mortensen) and his alluring younger wife Colette (Kirsten Dunst), are in Athens during a European vacation.
While sightseeing at the Acropolis they encounter Rydal (Oscar Isaac), a young, Greek-speaking American who is working as a tour guide, scamming female tourists on the side.
Drawn to Colette’s beauty and impressed by Chester's wealth and sophistication, Rydal gladly accepts their invitation to dinner.
All is not as it seems with the MacFarlands, Chester’s affable exterior hides darker secrets. When Rydal visits the couple at their exclusive hotel, Chester presses him to help move the body of a seemingly unconscious man who he claims attacked him.
In the heat of the moment, Rydal agrees but as events take a more sinister turn he finds himself compromised and unable to pull himself free. His increasing infatuation with the vulnerable and responsive Colette gives rise to Chester’s jealousy and paranoia, leading to a tense and dangerous battle of wits between the two men.
The Two Faces of January is released 16th May.
