The Survivalist is one of the homegrown movies to watch out for in February and the first trailer for the film has finally arrived.
The Survivalist will mark the feature film debut of writer and director Stephen Fingleton. He has a string of short projects such as Magpie and SLR under his belt and I cannot wait to see him make the leap into features for the first time.
The Survivalist has already been whipping up a storm and Fingleton has been nominated for the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer Bafta - this is the first Bafta nomination of his career to date.
The is a movie that we are really looking forward to here at FemaleFirst and we have the brand new trailer for you to take a look at:
Martin McCann takes on the central role of the Survivalist and he is joined on the cast list by Mia Goth, Olwen Fouere, and Douglas Russell.
In a kill-or-be-killed world where starvation is rife and strangers are always dangerous, The Survivalist lives off the grid, and by his wits. When a starving woman and her teenage daughter discover his forest refuge, his loneliness drives him to overcome his suspicion and strike a bargain with them in return for bed and board.
But as desire becomes stronger than necessity, the exchange becomes an uneasy, ongoing arrangement which threatens not only his carefully constructed world but also his life.
The Survivalist is released 12th February.
