Noomi Rapace in Dead Man Down
Ever since Noomi Rapace took on the role of Lisbeth Salander in the Millennium trilogy of movies we have seen her star rocket.
She is back on the big screen this week as she reunites with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo director Niels Arden Oplev to Dead Man Down.
Rapace kicked off her acting career back in 1988 and she worked on a string of Swedish project.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo proved to be her breakthrough movie role as Stieg Larsson's popular novel was adapted for the big screen.
The film saw her team up with Michael Nyquist and the pair proved to be a great partnership as the movie went on to be a critical and commercial hit.
Rapace won a string of awards including Satellite Award for Best Actress while she was nominated for a Bafta.
She went on to reprise the role of Lisbeth in The Girl Who Played with Fire and the Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest - while these movies didn't quite live up to the success of the first Rapace had announced herself of the global stage.
Her first big American role came in 2011 when she teamed up with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
For any film fans that were not familiar with the Millennium trilogy it was the second Sherlock Holmes movie that announced her to a more mainstream audience.
She took on the role of Madame Simza Hero who teams up with Holmes and Watson to find and save her brother and the movie was a box office smash.

The movie is Oplev's American theatrical debut and follows Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace who are two strangers who are irresistibly drawn to one another by their mutual desire for revenge.
Rapace is currently filming Animal Rescue with Tom Hardy and she has Child 44 in the pipeline.
