We were huge fans of An Unexpected Journey here at FemaleFirst and The Desolation of Smaug us one of the autumn films that is not to be missed.
Martin Freeman is back as Bilbo Baggins and the movie follows his adventure to reclaim the lost dwarf kingdom of Erebor.
This time around we are going to see Baggins and co reach The Lonely Mountain and come face to face with the dragon that lives there.
We caught a very brief glimpse of Smaug at the end of An Unexpected Journey but actor Benedict Cumberbatch will bring that character to life in this second film.
There are also some other exciting additions to the cast list as Luke Evans will take on the role of Bard the Bowman and Evangeline Lilly is set to play Tauriel; Tauriel is a character that has been created especially for the film.
An Unexpected Journey kicked The Hobbit franchise off in fine style as it grossed over $1 billion at the global box office.
The Desolation of Smaug looks set to follow in those footsteps and become one of the most successful movies of the year.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released 13th December.
