The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was one of my favourite movies of 2012, as we were taken back to Middle Earth by director Peter Jackson.
I don't know about you, but I have been looking forward to the release of the extended version of this DVD... and it is almost here.
It has been revealed that the movie will be available for digital download and on Blu-Ray on 22nd October, and on DVD on 4th November.
And to wet your appetite as to the extras that will be on the new extended addition of the film, an unseen clip from the movie has been released.
The clip features a conversation between Bilbo and Elrond in Rivendell:
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey say Martin Freeman take over the central role of Bilbo Baggins, while Richard Armitage, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt and Aidan Turner were just some of the new faces.
But there were plenty of familiar names returning as the likes of Ian McKellan, Christopher Lee, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood and Hugo Weaving all reprised their roles from The Lord of the Rings.
The movie was a box office smash when it was released at the end of 2012, going on to break the $1 billion barrier; four films achieved that feat last year.
This new extended addition gives fans thirteen minutes of extra film footage, as well as nine hours of extras and commentaries.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be the movie not to miss this December as we continue to follow Bilbo and the dwarves on their quest.
This second movie will bring us face to face with dragon Smaug; as we get a proper look at this character for the first time.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition arrives on digital download 22nd October and Blu-Ray 3D, and DVD on 4th November from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released 13th December.
