Testament of Youth

Testament of Youth

Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington are two of cinema's rising stars, and they have joined forces for new film Testament of Youth.

Testament of Youth already caused a bit of a stir at the BFI London Film Festival last month, and is set to be another of the January movies that is not to be missed.

Testament of Youth marks the return of James Kent to the director's chair, as makes his feature film directorial debut.

Kent is no stranger to the director's chair with TV projects such as Inside Men, Marchlands, and The Thirteenth Tale under his belt - now he is making the leap into movies.

Testament of Youth is based on the war memoirs of Vera Brittain - played by Vikander - and is set to be a powerful and moving account of the First World War. The brand new trailer for the film has been released, and we have it for you to take a look at:

Vikander takes on the central role of Brittain and she and Harington are joined on the cast list by Hayley Atwell, Dominic West, Emily Watson, Miranda Richardson, and Colin Morgan - to name but a few!!

Testament of Youth is a powerful story of love, war, and remembrance, based on the First World War memoir by Vera Brittain, which has become the classic testimony of that war from a woman’s point of view.

A searing journey from youthful hopes and dreams to the edge of despair and back again, it’s a film about young love, the futility of war and how to make sense of the darkest times.

Testament of Youth has already started to win over the critics - Vikander's central performance in particular has gained a lot of praise - and I can't wait to see this very talented cast in action as they tell a very poignant story.

Testament of Youth is released 16th January 2015.
