To celebrate the release of Trolls World Tour, which is available at home on-demand from April 6th, we’re taking a look at some of our favourite characters and the voices behind them. In an adventure that will take the Trolls well beyond what they’ve known before, Poppy, voiced by Anna Kendrick and Branch, voiced by Justin Timberlake, discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Cast as members of the different musical tribes is one of the largest, and most acclaimed, groups of musical talent ever assembled for an animated film. Let's stage dive in and take a look at some of the key characters.

Trolls

Poppy voiced by Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick returns as Poppy, the newly-crowned Queen of the Trolls. Kendrick is most known for her starring role in the musical-comedy, Pitch Perfect, where she performed the hit song, “Cups (When I’m Gone)”. In the first film Poppy used to be a relentlessly upbeat - if slightly naive princess, who looked to solve every problem with a song, a dance and a hug. After learning to face a real threat and saving her village alongside Branch, she was crowned Queen of the Trolls. Now, in the sequel, Trolls World Tour, the Pop Trolls’ way of life at stake from a new threat in Queen Barb, so

Queen Poppy sets out on a quest to unite the tribes once more… and show Barb the obvious error of her ways.

Barb voiced by Rachel Bloom

Golden Globe winner Rachel Bloom head-bangs her way onto the Trolls lineup, as Queen Barb, a member of hard-rock royalty, who’s looking to upstage all Trolls. Aided by her father King Thrash, voiced by Ozzy Osbourne, Barb wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. Rachel Bloom is best known for co-creating and starring in the comedy-drama series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which featured Emmy-nominated musical numbers.

Tiny Diamond voiced by Kenan Thompson

You’ll most likely recognise Kenan Thompson as the long-time alum of Saturday Night Live. He’s played Steve Harvey, Al Sharpton and Whoopi Goldberg, but now he’s rapping as a hip-hop newborn Troll, named Tiny Diamond. Small but fierce, gruff and in charge, Tiny Diamond’s glasses are almost as big as he is. The rapper’s whole body is made of glitter, and he’ll “throw it in ya face!”. With the fate of the world at stake, Tiny joins the Snack Pack on their big adventure in Troll’s World Tour.

Branch voiced by Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake is back to lend his vocal talents to Branch once again. Originally an over-cautious, paranoid survivalist in Troll Village, Branch was the only Troll who didn’t sing, dance or hug. In order to save Poppy and her friends, he had to embrace his inner Troll and recapture his talent for singing. Now with a new threat emerging, Branch, whose feelings for Poppy are growing by the day, must team up with his friends to stop Queen Barb. Trolls World Tour will feature original music by Timberlake, who earned an Oscar® nomination for his song in 2016’s Trolls, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”.

King Thrash voiced by Ozzy Osbourne

“The Prince of Darkness” himself joins the Trolls World Tour line-up, fittingly playing the King of the Heavy Rock Trolls, Thrash. Alongside his daughter, Queen Barb, King Thrash wants to shred away all other types of music, leaving rock as the only headliner. Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” is also featured in Trolls World Tour, covered by Rachel Bloom as Queen Barb.
