Summer In February

Summer In February

There are some fantastic British movies on the horizon throughout the rest of this year and Summer In February is one of them.

The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Jonathan Smith and it is the author who has adapted the book for the big screen.

This is a movie that we are really looking forward to here at FemaleFirst and we have a trio of great clips for you to enjoy:

A great cast has been brought together for the film as Dominic Cooper teams up with Emily Browning and Dan Stevens.

The three actors are some of the most exciting actors and all of them have been making waves on the big screen or on TV in recent years.

Stevens may have made a name for himself in Downton Abbey but his eye really is on film at the moment as Summer in February and The Fifth Estate look set to establish him as a real talent.

We have already seen Cooper in Dead Man Down so far this year and 2013 looks set to be a busy year for the actor with Reasonable Doubt and Need for Speed on the horizon.

But no movie is complete without a director and Christopher Menaul is at the helm of this movie; this is his first feature film since First Night back in 2011.

The film is the intimate, enchanting true story of young, vibrant souls navigating their way through love, passion and friendship in the picturesque landscape of early twentieth century England.

Summer In February focuses on the wild and bohemian Lamorna Group, dominated by the charismatic AJ Munnings (Cooper).

The incendiary anti-Modernist Munnings, now regarded as one of Britain’s most sought-after artists, is at the heart of the complex love triangle, involving the young aspiring painter Florence Carter-Wood (Browning) and Gilbert Evans (Stevens), the land agent in charge of the Lamorna estate.

True - and deeply moving - the story is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the far West of England, beyond the reach of London and its stifling conventions.

Summer In February is released 14th June.
