Slow West is a movie that has been whipping up a storm on the festival circuit and new the new trailer and poster for the film have arrived.
Slow West premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year where it won the Sundance Institute's World Cinema Jury Prize: Dramatic Winner and it is one of the summer movies that I am looking forward to the most.
Michael Fassbender is a bit of a favourite here at FemaleFirst and it will be the first time that we have seen him on the big screen since X-Men: Days of Future Past last summer as he tackles the Western.
Fassbender is joined on the cast list by Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ben Mendelsohn and they are all in action in this brand new trailer for the film:
Slow West will see John Maclean in the director's chair as he makes his feature film directorial debut with the movie. This will be the third project on which the director has worked with Fassbender - the actor starred in his short films Pitch Black Heist and Man on a Motorcycle in 2011 and 2009. As well as being in the director's chair, Maclean has also penned the screenplay.
Slow West follows the story of 16-year-old Jay Cavendish (Smit-McPhee) as he journeys across the American frontier at the end of the 19th century, in search of the woman he loves.
Along the way, he is joined by Silas (Fassbender), a mysterious traveller with his own agenda, and is hotly pursued by an outlaw named Payne (Mendelsohn).
Slow West is set to be a welcome breath of fresh air this summer and is a must see if you are not a fan of the big budget blockbuster. This is another movie that will show off the versatility of Fassbender as an actor and I really cannot wait to see him back in action.
Slow West is released 26th June.
