Just about everyone knows how excited I am to see Slow West this summer and there is now less than two weeks to go before the highly anticipated film hits the big screen.
The movie premiered at Sundance earlier this year - where it was met with critical acclaim - and it looks set to be a welcome break from all of the blockbusters that have been released of late.
I am a huge fan of Michael Fassbender and the Slow West marks his return as he reunites with writer and director John Maclean. Slow West marks Maclean's feature film directorial debut, but the pair have already worked on a couple of short projects together.
Slow West looks set to be one of the best Westerns of 2015 and we have a trio of great clips to whet your appetite ahead of its release at the end of the month - check them out:
Slow West also marks the return of Kodi Smit-McPhee, who continues to show his versatility as a young actor - he already has the likes of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Congress, and Let Me In under his belt.
Smit-McPhee and Fassbender are joined on the cast list by Ben Mendelsohn, Caren Pistorius, and Rory McCann.
At the end of the nineteenth century, 16-year-old Jay Cavendish (Smit-McPhee) journeys across the American frontier in search of the woman he loves. He is joined by Silas (Fassbender), a mysterious traveller, and hotly pursued by an outlaw along the way.
The Western is a genre that we don't see often enough today - which is a major shame - but every so often a gem comes along... it looks like Slow West is set to be that must see gem of a movie!!
Slow West is released 26th June.
