The Addams Family 2 – October 8th

Everyone knows the Addams family; a group of ghoulish oddballs who fit right in with only themselves, and the animated version leans into this silly, macabre family.

The previous film, The Addams Family from 2019, saw the unconventional family move to a plain and boring suburb in New Jersey. However, things don’t stay quiet for long as their daughter, Wednesday (Chloë Grace Moretz) befriends a gameshow host’s daughter.

The sequel is set to see the chaos continue, as the family wish to bond, so they set off on a road trip in an awful and ginormous camper; with a spooky family and a habit of mayhem combined, what could go wrong?

The Last Duel – October 15th

Historical based films seem to do rather well, as we often enjoy seeing our favourite actors in she shoes of figures that once lived (fictional or otherwise), and it seems The Last Duel holds excitement for fans of this genre.

Directed by Ridley Scott, this film follows the story of a woman (Jodie Comer) who claims her husband’s best friend, Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon), has raped her. After no one believes her story, her husband challenges his friend to a duel; the last legally sanctioned duel in France’s history.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage – October 15th

This movie has been delayed, brought forward, and delayed again over recent months, but it seems that October 15th will be when the battle between Venom and Carnage takes place.

Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his symbiote alter ego are living in peace (more or less), but when serial killer Cletus Kasaday (Woody Harrelson) gets a literal taste of Brock’s blood, carnage follows...

Eddie and Venom must fight against Carnage, a red symbiote; his colour comes from the fact that when Cletus becomes Carnage, he is turned inside out. Even Venom must swallow his fear and fight to survive against the beast that is made from Kasaday’s evil, twisted mind.

Halloween Kills – October 15th

Michael Myers is part of the holy trinity of horror villains, along with Freddie Krueger and Jason Voorhees, making fans antsy for his return. This Halloween season, Myers is back again in the second film in the trilogy, Halloween Kills.

Halloween (2018) ended with the murderous Michael being trapped in a burning house by Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis), along with her daughter and granddaughter. However, when police descend on the area, Michael rises once more.

Laurie and her family have had their lives ruined by this solitary killer, and plan to end his life once and for all; but with a third film on the way, how will Halloween Kills end?

Dune – October 21st

Another highly-anticipated movie is Dune, the sci-fi flick based on the 1965 novel of the same name.

Starring actors such as Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Timothée Chalamet and Jason Mamoa, fans have been excited to watch this movie since its announcement about a year ago.

Dune follows Paul Atreides (Chalamet), a promising young man born into destiny beyond what he understands, must travel to the universe’s most dangerous planet to ensure the future of his family and his people remains intact; but will it be that simple?

Those who can take hold of their fear will be the ones to survive.

Dear Evan Hansen – October 22nd

Dear Evan Hansen is a film adaptation of the Broadway show of the same name, and follows Evan (Ben Platt) as a misunderstanding surrounding the suicide of a fellow student takes over his life.

Evan is an isolated, shy young man who, during high school, only wishes to belong and be heard in the midst of a social media age. However, when a letter he wrote to himself (asked for by his therapist) lands into the hands of a grieving couple who believe their late son to have been friends with Evan, his life becomes a grand lie.

Last Night in Soho – October 29th

Last Night in Soho is Edgar Wright’s newest feature, starring Split actor Anya Taylor-Joy and Doctor Who star, Matt Smith.

An aspiring fashion designer by the name of Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie) can, somehow, transport herself to the 1960s, where she meets beautiful and stunning singer, Sandy (Taylor-Joy).

Despite this amazing gift Eloise seems to have, it isn’t all glamour as her visions of the past begin to crack and leak something much, much sinister.
