Bob’s Burgers movie gets poster and release date
Fox has released the new poster for the long-awaited film, Bob’s Burgers: The Movie, which is said to debut on Memorial Day weekend of next year (2022).
The popular TV show follows Bob Belcher (H. Jon Benjamin), a father of three who runs his own Burger joint along with his wife, Linda (John Roberts), and kids. The series has been called one of the best animated shows on the air, so a movie should be bringing out much excitement for fans.
After a long wait, as the film was set to release in 2020, we should expect to see the Belcher Family on May 27th, 2022. While details seem scarce at the moment, hopefully a trailer will surface soon.
Nicolas Cage to star in his first western
Nicolas Cage is set to star in The Old Way, which will be the actor’s first ever western movie in his long-running career.
Cage has been in a number of iconic movies, such as Face/Off (1997), National Treasure (2004) and Ghost Rider (2011); now it seems he is tackling a whole new frontier.
The prolific actor will be playing Colton Briggs, a gunslinger turned general store manager, who is living the quiet life with his family. However, when his wife is murdered by a band of outlaws, he saddles up and readies himself, and his daughter, for battle.
There is no release date for The Old Way just yet, but we can bet that Cage will give 110%, as always.
The Little Mermaid live-action film gets release date
Disney’s upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid, starring Halle Bailey, Javier Bardem, and Melissa McCarthy, has been confirmed to release in 2023.
The film will be directed by Rob Marshall, who led the sequel Mary Poppins Returns. The narrative will follow the same narrative as the Disney adaptation as the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale, but there will of course be some changes.
What is perhaps good news for fans, is that this adaptation will still be a musical; which is of course a pivotal point in many Disney movies.
The Little Mermaid will be released into cinemas on May 26th, 2023.
Marvel sets four mystery movies to release in 2024
Disney and Marvel are essentially taking over the world; there are numerous TV shows and movies coming out in the next couple of years, and now it seems 2024 will be filled with excitement too.
Marvel have just added four new mystery movies to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), though titles remain unknown. This news comes after the wild success of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was released on September 3rd, 2021.
The MCU has been running for 13 years, and contains 25 films and counting. It has been said the new entries will land on February 16th, May 3rd, July 26th, and November 8th, all in 2024; what these could be, is anyone’s guess...
Until these four new titles are revealed, fans will no doubt be on the edge of their seats.
Salem’s Lot to release in 2022
Stephen King is a master of horror, suspense and anxiety, and many of his bestselling books have been adapted on screen to further show his skill in creating fear.
Adding to adaptations such as IT (2017) and Pet Sematary (1989 and 2019), Salem’s Lot will be the next book to be brought to the big screen, with a release date set for autumn, 2022.
The book, released in 1975, follows Ben Mears as he returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot, only to realise it’s been infested with vampires. James Wan is said to be on hand as a producer, which will certainly lend the movie some real credibility.
Salem's Lot will be released on September 9th, 2022.
Disney’s Haunted Mansion reboot to begin filming in October, 2021
Disney’s upcoming Haunted Mansion reboot will reportedly begin production next month (October, 2021), with filming set to take place in Atlanta.
The upcoming film will be following the 2003 version starring Eddie Murphy, but will likely have no link to the original, other than that it is based off the Haunted Mansion ride in Walt Disney theme parks.
The Justin Simien led film will follow a family who has moved into the Haunted Mansion; reports have said that Owen Wilson, who recently portrayed Mobius in Marvel’s TV series Loki, will be on board.
Knives Out 2 filming is almost complete
Rian Johnson, via a post on Instagram, confirms that Knives Out 2 is almost finished filming, while simultaneously teasing the sequel’s setting.
The first Knives Out movie came out in 2019 and amazed fans with its focused, thrilling whodunit atmosphere. Daniel Craig was Benoit Blanc, a detective investigating the death of Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer).
Craig will be returning as Blanc in the sequel, which is set to take place internationally, as there have been rumours of some stunning locations; Craig will be joined by Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Ethan Hawke, and Kate Hudson.
While no plot has been revealed yet, a trailer and more details will be more than welcomed when the time comes.
