If you are looking for a film to help you get in the festive spirit then check out Saving Santa, a movie that is a lot of fun.
Both Leon Joosen and Aaron Seelman are making their feature film directorial debuts with this film, and they have brought together a great voice cast.
Lowly stable elf Bernard (Freeman), who dreams of becoming more, finds he must stop an invasion of Santa's Kingdom by the evil Neville Baddington (Curry).
He discovers the only solution is to activate the secret TimeGlobe time travel device in Santa's sleigh. Now this once clumsy elf will assemble the courage to blast back in time to rescue the North Pole
Ok, this is not a Christmas animation movie that reinvents the wheel and sadly, it is not a patch on the likes of Arthur Christmas, but it is a film that has charm.
I am a fan of Christmas movies and I can quite easily get swept along with the characters, messages and festive cheer that you always get with this film; Saving Santa is not different.
Saving Santa is a movie that does have heart and spirit and is very much about remembering what Christmas is all about.
The voice cast really are the backbone of this film with the likes of Martin Freeman, Tim Conway and Tim Curry. Joosen and Seelman do throw in a few musical numbers but they don’t really work - which is a bit of a shame.
Technically, this is not the best animation film that we have been treated to this year, but it is a movie that is perfect for this time of year and is a lot of festive fun.
Saving Santa is out now.
