Ryan Reynolds is back on the big screen this week as leads an all star cast in R.I.P.D.
The movie is based on the comic Rest In Peace Department by Peter M. Lenkov and sees Reynolds team up with director Robert Schwentke and Oscar winner Jeff Bridges.
Overall it has been a quiet film year for Reynolds; in fact we haven't seen him on the big screen at all only lending his voice to The Croods. The Croods did however go on to be a box office smash earlier this year.
But now Reynolds is back fighting crime in the afterlife. The actor plays a recently deceased cop who finds himself working for the Rest in Peace Department alongside Bridges.
The movie marks the first time that Reynolds as worked with director Schwentke, as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since RED back in 2010.
And R.I.P.D. will kick off a busy period for the actor as he has a series of projects on the horizon.
The Croods saw Reynolds step into animation for this first time earlier this year, and now he is set to reunite with Dreamworks Animations.
Turbo is the new project and that will be hitting the big screen in October; it is set to be one of the must see animation movies of the autumn.
Reynolds will voice the title character of Turbo; a snail who is given the chance of realising his dream of becoming a racer after a freak accident.
Into 2014 and Reynolds will be back on the big screen with thriller The Captive; a film that sees him work with director Atom Egoyan.
The Captive follows a father as he tries to track down his kidnapped daughter, and sees Reynolds team up with Scott Speedman, Rosario Dawson and Mireille Enos.
The Voices is another project that Reynolds has completed as he stars alongside Anna Kendrick, Gemma Arterton and Jacki Weaver.
The film sees Marjane Satrapi return to the director's chair; she brought us the fantastic animation film Persepolis.
Reynolds also has Selfless and Mississippi Grind to shoot, while a Deadpool movie is still a possibility.
R.I.P.D. is released 20th September
