Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman are two of the best and most experienced actors around and they have teamed up for the first time this week for Ruth & Alex.

Ruth & Alex - named 5 Flights Up in the U.S. - sees Keaton and Freeman play husband and wife as they both team up with the director Richard Loncraine for the first time.
The comedy drama is based on the novel Heroic Measures by Jill Ciment and is a terrific and touching movie about the everyday life as well as touching on the real issues and problems that many face when getting older.

In recent years, we have seen The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Quartet hit the right note with cinema go-ers here in the UK and Ruth & Alex could well enjoy similar success.
Cynthia Nixon and Carrie Preston join Freeman and Keaton on the cast list - but it is Freeman and Keaton that well and truly steal the show. It is great to see two great actors with such fantastic chemistry.
Loncraine has brought us movies such as Wimbledon, Richard III, and TV movie The Gathering Storm during his career and Ruth & Alex is his first feature since My One and Only back in 2009.

But when the reality of living five flights up with old age bedding in starts to hit home, they find themselves at the eye of the storm that is the New York real estate game - a game they have never learned to play.
