We have seen very little of Robert Pattinson on the big screen since The Twilight Saga was brought to a close, but now he is back.
Pattinson makes his film return this week as he teams up with Guy Pearce for The Rover: a movie that sees him work with filmmaker David Michôd for the first time.
Since the end of the Twilight movies Pattinson has been taking on new and more interesting movies and roles, and it looks like The Rover is going to take his career in a very different direction: I have to say, it is a direction I am excited to see the actor take.
10 years after a global economic collapse, a hardened loner pursues the men who stole his only possession, his car.
Along the way, he captures one of the thieves' brother, and the duo form an uneasy bond during the dangerous journey.
Pattinson will play one of the thieves, Rey, while Pearce takes on the central role.
The Rover is just one of the projects that Pattinson fans to look out for as he has a few projects on the horizon.
He has also completed work on Maps to the Stars, which sees him reunite with director David Cronenberg: the pair worked together for the first time on Cosmopolis.
Pattinson takes on the role of a driver in the film, and stars alongside Mia Wasikowska, Julianne Moore, and John Cusack.
Maps To The Stars premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, where it competed for the Palme d'Or. It will hit the big screen at the end of September.
Life is another film that Pattinson has completed work on - and one that I am really looking forward to seeing.
Pattinson will take on the role of Dennis Stock - a photographer for Life magazine - as the film looks at the friendship between Stock and James Dean.
Dane DeHaan will take on the role of Dean, while Joel Edgerton and Ben Kingsley will also star. The movie also sees Anton Corbijn back in the director's chair.
Corbijn has been behind films such as Control and The American, and this will be the first collaboration between him and Pattinson.
Queen of the Desert is another Pattinson film to watch out for as he teams up with director Werner Herzog.
The movie is a chronicle of the life of Gertrude Bell, who was a traveller, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire.
Nicole Kidman will take on the role of Bell, while James Franco and Damian Lewis are also on board, Pattinson will take on the role of Col T.E. Lawrence in the film.
And as if all of those projects were not enough, Pattinson has also landed a role in Idol's Eye with Robert De Niro and has been linked to The Childhood of a Leader with Tim Roth.
Pattinson is an actor to watch out for over the next couple of years, as he has a range of exciting movies ahead of him.
The Rover is released 15th August.
