There are a whole host of exciting actors who are set to make or continue to make a name for themselves during 2014.
We take a look at some of the stars who look set to see their star rise even further over the course of the next twelve months.
- George Mackay
Cast as ‘Curly’ one of the lost boys in Peter Pan aged 8, George Mackay has gone on to star in The Boys are Back with Clive Owen and this year is nominated for an EE BAFTA Rising Star Award.
In his latest film, How I Live Now George plays protagonist Eddie who is fighting for love and survival in the massive drama. He is one to watch!
Mackay also enjoyed success last year with musical Sunshine on Leith, as he continued to show his versatility as an actor.
And we are going to be seeing plenty of him on the big screen later this year, as he has completed work on Pride and Bypass; the former sees her team up with Bill Night, Dominic West, and Imelda Staunton.
- Saoirse Ronan
Irish gem Saoirse Ronan has become an international star since her role in Hanna, going from strength to strength in The Lovely Bones and The Host.
She brilliantly takes the lead in Kevin Macdonald’s apocalyptic tale How I Live Now as strong and independent Daisy as she continues to mix and match her role.
Into 2014, and the actress has an incredibly busy year. She will work with director Wes Anderson for the first time with The Grand Budapest Hotel. She is part of an all-star cast as Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, and Bill Murray are just some of the names on board.
She is also set to star in Ryan Gosling feature film directorial debut How To Catch A Monster; Matt Smith and Christian Hendricks will also star. She has also been linked to roles in The Fantastic Four and Star Wars: Episode VII.
- Will Poulter
Funny guy Will Poulter has shot to fame this year after starring alongside Jason Sudiekis and Jennifer Aniston in the massive tongue in cheek comedy We’re The Millers.
We're The Millers was the movie that grabbed everyone's attention last year, but he already had the likes of Son of Rambow and Wild Bill under his belt.
The Maze Runner is his big film of 2014, as the young adult novel of the same name by James Dashner is adapted for the big screen.
He has also completed work on Plastic and Kids in Love, and is currently working on Grassland.
Grassland sees him team up with director Gerard Barrett, while Toni Collette and Jack Reynor are also on the cast list.
- Jessica Brown Findlay
Jessica Brown Findlay is another actress who has been making a name for herself with the likes of Albatross and Downton Abbey under her belt in recent years.
Her star is going to continue to rise at a rapid rate this year, as she has a whole host of projects on the horizon.
She will return to the big screen next week with A New York Winter's Tale: a film that sees her star alongside Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe.
She has also completed work on Posh and Lullaby, and is currently filming Frankenstein.
Frankenstein is the latest adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel, and will see the actress star alongside James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe. This movie will not hit the big screen until January 2015.
- Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita Nyong’o made a stunning feature debut as Patsey, in Steve McQueen's unflinchingly brutal 12 Years a Slave.
This breakthrough performance was honoured with the New Hollywood Award and helped to cement her place on Variety’s admired annual 10 actors to watch list giving her a spot on 2014’s rising stars.
She has been picked up awards left, right and centre and looks set to scoop the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the beginning of next month.
She will return to the big screen at the end of February with action film Non Stop, with Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore.
- Dane DeHaan
Dane DeHaan has a very busy 2013 with role in Lincoln, The Place Beyond the Pines, and Kill Your Darlings. Lincoln saw the actor work with director Steven Spielberg, while Kill Your Darlings saw him team up with Daniel Radcliffe.
He will step into the big budget blockbuster this year as he takes over the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider Man 2.
Marc Webb is in the director's chair for the film, while Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti are just some of the other names on board the film.
He has also completed work on comedy Life After Beth, and will play James Dean in Life.
DeHaan is also in the mix for the EE Rising Star Bafta this weekend.
- Léa Seydoux
Léa Seydoux is a young actress with an enviable array of accolades from French cinema and television.
Now she’s gaining worldwide attention for her roles in high-profile international films, including Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, and Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris.
This year, Léa shared the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival alongside director Abdellatif Kechiche and co-star Adele Exarchopoulos, for her intense and powerful performance in Blue is the Warmest Colour.
2014 will be another busy year, as she is set to appear in Beauty and the Beast, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Saint Laurent.
Other stars to watch out for this year include Jack Ryenor, Jack O'Connell, Tom Holland and Felicity Jones.
