It was back in 2011 when we were introduced to the characters of Rio and Jewel for the first time but in 2014 the pair are set to return.
Yes Carlos Saldanha is back in the director's chair to follow up the same hit that was Rio with another spectacular animation movie.
Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway are both back as Rio and Jewel while Jamie Foxx, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Andy Garcia and Kristin Chenoweth have all lent their voices to this new film.

Rio grossed a whopping $484 million at the global box office by the end of it's theatrical run in 2011 and so it come as no surprise that a sequel is in the pipeline.
Blue Sky Films is one again the studio behind the film and they have brought us some great animation movies over the years including Robots and the Ice Age franchise - the studio is back next week with new movie Epic.
In Rio 2 we find Blu, Jewel and their three kids living the perfect domesticated life in that magical city. When Jewel decides the kids need to learn to live like real birds, she insists the family venture into the Amazon.
As Blu tries to fit in with his new neighbours, he worries he may lose Jewel and the kids to the call of the wild.
Rio is released next year
