We are just over twenty-four hours away from finding out who has won the 2016 Oscars and the Best Supporting Actress is set to be one of the most exciting and unpredictable categories.
Kate Winslet in Steve Jobs
Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs), Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl) Rachel McAdams (Spotlight), Rooney Mara (Carol), and Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) have all be nominated. And while Winslet, Vikander and Mara could all realistically win, it looks like it is going to be a two-horse race between Winslet and Vikander.

Winslet is no stranger to the Oscar buzz and is in the mix once again for her performance as Joanna Hoffman in the biopic Steve Jobs, which saw the actress work with filmmaker Danny Boyle for the first time.
Back in the autumn of 2015, Mara was perhaps the early favourite for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar but Winslet moved to the head of the pack when she won the Golden Globe. She would triumph again a few weeks later at the Baftas.
While Winslet is one of many British stars to pick up a nomination at this year's Oscars, she is one of very few that could go on to win. Personally, I would love to see Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio celebrate their Oscar wins together.
Winslet's Best Supporting Actress nod was one of just two Oscar nominations for Steve Jobs; the other a Best Actor nomination of Michael Fassbender.
As for Winslet, this is the seventh Oscar nomination of her career and her first since she won the Best Actress gong for her performance in The Reader. It is also her third Best Supporting Actress nomination; picking up nods for Sense and Sensibility and Iris.
It looks like there will be so few Brits winning tomorrow night and I really would like to see one home-grown star walk away with a major award... but Winslet faces some truly tough competition.

And that competition comes in the form of Alicia Vikander, who lit up the big screen with her performances as Gerda Wegener - the win of transgender pioneer Lili Elbe - in The Danish Girl.
Vikander has been making a name for herself in the last couple of years with A Royal Affair, Testament of Youth, and Ex Machina and this is the first Oscar nomination of her career.
For many, Vikander is the favourite when it comes to the Best Supporting Actress category after winning the Screen Actors Guild Award earlier this month. It would be great to see a new name triumph.
Vikander was also in the mix at the Golden Globes and the Baftas, but lost out to Winslet. It really is going to be a fierce battle between these two great actresses and I love it when the result is still so uncertain so close to the event.
Vikander's Best Supporting Actress nomination is one of four nods for The Danish Girl, which was also recognised in the Best actor, Costume Design, and Production Design categories. Of all of the nominations, it is Vikander who has the best chance of victory.
Who will win? 2015 has been such a great year for women in film and you can see that in both the Best Actress and the Best Supporting Actress categories, which are loaded with talent and wonderful performances.
Best Supporting Actress is really going to go down to the wire and it is hard to pick a winner between Winslet and Vikander. I am a huge fan of Vikander's and think that she is a bright talent who is destined for Oscar glory at some point. But I would love to see a Brit in the winner's circle and I think Winslet has the best chance.
The Oscar winners are revealed on Sunday 28th February.
