If you are a movie fan then you are in for a treat this November as there are a string of films that you just cannot miss over the next few weeks.

Interstellar

Interstellar

And this month there is something for everyone, from blockbusters, to sci-fi, biopic, comedy, and crime drama - it really is going to be hard deciding what you are going to go and watch.

We take a look at some of the movies that you absolutely cannot miss over the next four weeks - and they include some of Hollywood's biggest stars.

- Interstellar - released 7th November

Interstellar is a movie that just about everyone has been talking about all year, as it is always exciting when a Christopher Nolan movie is on the horizon… and now the film is here.

Interstellar is the first film for Nolan since the success of The Dark Knight Rises, as he teams up with is brother Jonathan to pen the screenplay. As you would expect from a Nolan movie, the director has brought together an impressive cast as Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Wes Bentley,Casey Affleck and Michael Caine are all on board.

This is the first film for McConaughey since his Best Actor Oscar triumph earlier this year; this is also the first time that he as worked with Nolan. That is not the case for Hathaway, who works with Nolan for the second time after The Dark Knight Rises.

A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage. They leave behind a dying earth and their families to set out on this mission.

Interstellar is the 2014 movie that I have been looking forward to the most, as I am a huge Nolan fan. If you have seen the trailer, you will know that Interstellar promises to be a real visual treat, but it also looks set to be a very human and personal story as well.

This movie looks set to be another sprawling space epic that looks fantastic and is packed with some wonderful central performances from a great cast. The movie is already being tipped as a possible Oscar contender, but we are going to have to wait until the beginning of next year to see if it is in the running.

- Say When - released 7th November

Keira Knightley returns to the big screen this month as she leads an all-star cast in Say When - which was originally called Laggies.

Say When sees Lynn Shelton back in the director's chair for the first time since the success of Touchy Feely last year, as she teams up with Knightley for the first time.

The director has assembled a terrific cast as Knightley is joined by Chloe Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell in the central roles, while Mark Webber and Gretchen Mol are also on the cast list.

In the throes of a quarter-life crisis, Megan panics when her boyfriend proposes, then, taking an opportunity to escape for a week, hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year-old Annika, who lives with her world-weary single dad.

2014 is a year that has seen Knightley mix and match her movie roles from action blockbuster, to wartime drama and now romantic comedy - she is an actress who has really shown off her versatility over the last twelve months.

There aren't too many romantic comedies set to hit the big screen this month, but it looks like Say When could be one that is not to be missed.

- The Imitation Game - released 14th November

We are huge fans of Benedict Cumberbatch here at FemaleFirst, and The Imitation Game is a movie that we have been looking forward to for quite some time. The Imitation Game is a movie that has been whipping up a storm on the festival circuit, and now we get to see what all the fuss is about.

The Imitation Game is another film that is already a very strong Oscar contender, with the film and Cumberbatch's central performance expected to be in the running when the nominations are announced that the beginning of 2015.

Cumberbatch takes on the role of mathematician Alan Turing, who was part of the team that helped crack the Enigma code during the Second World War.

We are going to see some terrific ensemble casts over the next few weeks, but The Imitation Game boasts one of the best line-ups as Keira Knightley, Charles Dance, Mark Strong, and Matthew Goode are just some of the other names on board.

The Imitation Game is a nail-biting race against time following Alan Turing (pioneer of modern-day computing and credited with cracking the German Enigma code) and his brilliant team at Britain's top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II.

Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British establishment, but his work and legacy live on.

If you are looking for a great piece of drama on the big screen this November, then The Imitation Game could well be the one for you as it promises to be Cumberbatch's finest big screen performance to date.

The Imitation Game

- The Drop - released 14th November

Tom Hardy is another FemaleFirst favourite and he is also back this November as he leads a terrific cast in The Drop - which is based on the Dennis Lehane short story Animal Rescue.

This is a second movie outing for Hardy this year - if you haven't seen his solo performance in the terrific Locke, then you really should check it out - but now he has teamed up with James Gandolfini and Noomi Rapace. However, this is a movie that will be tinged with a big to sadness, as this will be the last time that we see Gandolfini on the big screen.

We have seen a whole host of Lehane stories hit the big screen in recent year - including the likes of Gone Baby Gone and Shutter Island - but this is the first time that Lehane has adapted his own work into a screenplay; I have to say, I am looking forward to seeing the result.

The Drop follows lonely bartender Bob Saginowski (Hardy) through a covert scheme of funnelling cash to local gangsters - 'money drops' - in the underworld of Brooklyn bars.

Under the heavy hand of his employer and cousin Marv (Gandolfini), Bob finds himself at the centre of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighbourhood's past where friends, families, and foes all work together to make a living - no matter the cost.

I always look forward to seeing Hardy on the big screen as he is such an exciting and incredibly versatile actor - it looks like it is going to be another great performance and is a must see for all Hardy fans.

The Drop

- The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 - released 20th November

Ever since the credits rolled on The Hunger Game: Catching Fire twelve months ago, I have been looking forward to Mocking jay - Part 1, and there is not long to wait now until it hit's the big screen.

Mockingjay is the third and final book in the Suzanne Collins trilogy, but this final book has been split into two very exciting movies, which will bring this great series of movies to a triumphant close.

Francis Lawrence - who directed Catching Fire - is back in the director's chair and will stay with the franchise now until the end - I think this is terrific news because he work on the previous film really was good stuff.

Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland are all back, while Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer are two of the big new additions to a very exciting cast list. Much like The Imitation Game, this is another great ensemble movie of the autumn.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 finds Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever.

Under the leadership of President Coin (Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage.

This really does look set to be the biggest film in the series to date and I really can't wait to see what the director delivers this time around. Mockingjay- Part 1 is one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the year, and will end up being one of the biggest at the box office.

The Hunger Games

- Horrible Bosses 2 - released 28th November

If comedy is what you are looking for on the big screen this autumn, then look no further than Horrible Bosses 2, which comes three years after the success of the first movie.

Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis will reprise their roles of Nick, Dale, and Kurt and they find themselves in a spot of bother once again.

Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, and Jamie Foxx are also back, but there are a couple of exciting new faces to watch out for. Double Oscar winner Christoph Waltz in on board alongside Chris Pine.

However, it is all change in the director's chair as Sean Anders takes over from Seth Gordon. But Anders is no stranger to the comedy genre with the likes of That's My Boy and Sex Drive already under his belt.

Fed up with answering to higher-ups, Nick, Dale and Kurt decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business in Horrible Bosses 2. But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them.

Outplayed and desperate, and with no legal recourse, the three would-be entrepreneurs hatch a misguided plan to kidnap the investor's adult son and ransom him to regain control of their company.

Horrible Bosses 2 looks set to be even more outrageous than the first and promises to be a movie that is packed with laughs and is a lot of fun.

Horrible Bosses 2

Other November movies not to miss include Paddington, What We Do In The Shadows, Get On Up, and The Homesman.
