Zazie Beetz is set to star in 'Deadpool 2'.
The 'Atlanta' actress has been cast as Domino - a mutant who has developed telekinetic powers - in the follow-up to the 2016 science fiction film based on the Marvel Comics, and the exciting news was teased by the German-born star's co-star Ryan Reynolds, who plays the lead role as the anti-hero in the production.
The 40-year-old hunk shared a picture of domino pieces lined up beside one another to spell out the newcomer's name on his Twitter account, which he captioned: "Domino effect (sic)."
And the Hollywood star - who has daughters James, two, and five-month-old Ines with his wife Blake Lively - shared the same image on his Instagram, which he simply captioned with a string of ellipses.
The star also tweeted a picture of Zazie, whose face has been edited onto a comic book cover, riding on top of Deadpool, which he wrote: "Zazie Beetz Effect. (sic)."
The upcoming production is set to be directed by David Leitch, who replaced Tim Miller in last year's movie.
And screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are also on board to pen the script.
The news that a forthcoming sequel was taking place was first hinted to by film company 20th Century Fox who showed a snippet of a scene in the movie prior to showing Hugh Jackman's latest movie 'Logan', which saw Reynolds' character as Wade Wilson bare his bottom as he changed into his skin-tight red costume in a photo booth before he attempted to save a male from being attacked.
And the footage has since been shared on Reynolds' YouTube page.
Although a release date for the movie has yet to be confirmed, it is believed the project will hit the big screens on March 2, 2018.
