I am already looking forward to X-Men: Apocalypse and it looks like the movie is going to centre around the relationship between Mystique and Magneto.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be the third movie in the newest X-Men trilogy and will follow on from First Class and Days of Future Past. Filming is due to get underway very shortly to be ready in time for the 2016 release date.
The Hollywood Reporter have hinted as to what could well be the plot of the movie, and it seems that Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence - who will be reprising the role of Magneto and Mystique - are going to be the very centre of the story.
THR revealed: "Apocalypse is being crafted around Lawrence's Mystique character and Michael Fassbender's Magneto. A source who has seen the script says Fox will take full advantage of Lawrence and Fassbender's star power, placing Mystique and Magneto's romance front and centre."
Apocalypse will see Bryan Singer return to the director's chair after the huge success of Days of Future Past earlier this year, which remains one of the highest grossing movies of 2014 so far.
Fassbender and Lawrence are not going to be the only familiar faces on the cast list as James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult are also set to return. We may also see Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine, while we may also be introduced to Channing Tatum as Gambit.
We already know that a solo Gambit movie is on the horizon, but it looks likely that Apocalypse will be used to bring this very popular character - who we have only seen on in X-Men Origins: Wolverine - return to the franchise.
The new X-Men franchise has been getting better and better with every movie and Apocalypse could be the biggest and most adventurous yet - hard to believe after the success of Days of Future Past: which still remains one of my favourite movies of the year.
It is great to see Singer back at the helm as he is a director who has brought the best X-Men movies to the big screen. I am really excited to see where he takes this franchise next.
X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in the UK 19th May 2016.
