Will Smith has revealed that he has not spoken to actor Jared Leto because he was 'all in' as the Joker.
Smith and Leto have teamed up for the first time with Suicide Squad, taking on the roles of Deadshot and the Joker. And while the two filmed together for six months, Smith reveals that they never spoke outside of their characters.
Speaking on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, Smith said: "I've never actually met Jared Leto. We worked together for 6 months and we've never exchanged a word outside of 'Action!' and 'Cut!' We've never said 'Hello,' we've never said 'Good day.' I've only ever spoken to him as Deadshot and him as the Joker.
"I literally have not met him yet. So, the first time I see him will be 'Hey, Jared. What's up?' Not a single word exchanged off camera. He was all in on the Joker... I'm looking forward to meeting him."
Suicide Squad is the latest DC Comic to be adapted for the big screen and will be released next summer with David Ayer in the director's chair for the first time since Fury.
This will be the first time that Smith has stepped into the world of the comic book film and Suicide Squad is already one of the most talked about and anticipated films of 2016.
A wonderful cast has been assembled for the movie as Smith and Leto are joined by Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Cara Delevingne, Scott Eastwood, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman. We are also set to see Ben Affleck reprise his role as Batman for a little cameo.
We haven't see Smith on the big screen since Focus earlier this year but the actor has already completed work on Concussion, which sees him team up with writer and director Peter Landesman.
Suicide Squad is released 5th August 2016.
