The Diary of a Teenage Girl is a movie that has been whipping up a storm on the festival circuit and now the brand new trailer for the film has arrived.
The Diary of a Teenage Girl premiered at Sundance Film festival earlier this year before going on to be received well at the Edinburgh international Film Festival last month.
The movie is based on the novel by Phoebe Gloeckner and has been adapted and directed by Marielle Heller. Heller kicked of her directing career in front of the camera and is making her feature film directorial debut with The Diary of a Teenage Girl.
The Diary of a Teenage Girl looks set to be one of the summer movies that's not to be missed and here is the brand new trailer to check out:
The movie sees Bel Powley in her second big movie role of the year - we have already seen her star in A Royal Night Out - as she really starts to make a name for herself. She takes on the central role of Minnie and is joined on the cast list by Alexander Skarsgård, Kristen Wiig, and Christopher Meloni.
Like most teenage girls, Minnie Goetze (Powley) is longing for love, acceptance, and a sense of purpose in the world. Minnie begins a complex love affair with her mother's (Wiig) boyfriend, Monroe Rutherford (Skarsgård). What follows is a sharp, funny, and provocative account of one girl's sexual and artistic awakening, without judgment.
The Diary of a Teenage Girl is released 7th August.
