We are huge fans of Jake Gyllenhaal here at FemaleFirst and he is set to return to the big screen later this year with Demolition.
Demolition sees Gyllenhaal team up with filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since Wild.
The movie mixes elements of comedy and drama and promises to be another great central role for Gyllenhaal. We are going to have to wait until April before the film hits the big screen but here is the brand new trailer for you to take a look at:
Gyllenhaal is set to take on the central role of Davis Mitchell and is joined on the cast list by Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper. The movie will also introduce us to the acting talents of Judah Lewis.
In recent years, Vallée has enjoyed critical and commercial success with Wild and Dallas Buyers Club and Demolition is already winning over audiences. I really cannot wait to see what he delivers with this latest movie.
Davis (Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash. Despite pressure from his father in law Phil (Cooper) to pull it together, Davis continues to unravel. What starts as a complaint letter to a vending machine company turns into a series of letters revealing startling personal admissions.
Davis' letters catch the attention of customer service rep Karen (Watts) and, amidst emotional and financial burdens of her own, the two form an unlikely connection. With the help of Karen and her son Chris (Judah Lewis), Davis starts to rebuild, beginning with the demolition of the life he once knew.
Demolition is released 29th April.
